Hourly Car Service in Portland Some days do not fit into a pickup and a drop off. A morning of meetings across the city. A wedding that moves between three venues. A client visit where the schedule was always going to slip. A night out where the last stop gets decided somewhere around the second one. Hourly service is built for those days. You reserve the vehicle and the chauffeur for a block of time, and they stay with you for it. Between stops the car waits rather than leaving and returning, so there is no re-booking, no waiting for a pickup, and no explaining the plan again to a new driver. How hourly differs from point to point Point to point is one pickup, one destination, one fixed price. It suits airport runs, dinner reservations and anything where you know exactly where you are going and when. Hourly works differently. The car and the chauffeur are yours for the duration. You can add a stop, sit somewhere longer than planned, change the order, or decide the last destination on the way to it. The schedule is allowed to move, because nothing has to be rebooked when it does. The practical test is simple. If the plan might change while it is happening, hourly is the right choice and usually the cheaper one, because a day of separate point to point bookings costs more than the same day on the clock. If you are not sure which suits your day, describe the plan when you call and we will tell you which works out better. We would rather put you on the right arrangement than the more expensive one. What hourly service is used for Business days are the most common. An executive with four appointments across Portland, a sales team covering the metro area, a visiting director who needs to be somewhere every ninety minutes and cannot afford to be looking for parking between them. Weddings are the second. The couple, the party, the family, moving between the ceremony, the photographs and the reception, on a timetable that cannot slip and with nobody in the group free to drive. Then everything else. Client roadshows, site visits, property tours, conference days, milestone birthdays, a night out that takes in dinner, a show and somewhere afterwards. Anything where the day has several parts and you would rather think about the parts than the transport between them. The fleet Hourly service is available across the whole fleet, so the vehicle is chosen to fit the party rather than whatever happens to be free. Luxury sedans, the Mercedes S-Class, Cadillac XTS and BMW 7 Series, carry up to three passengers with luggage. They are the usual choice for business days, where the back seat becomes a quiet place to take a call or read through something before the next meeting. SUVs, the Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon XL, take small groups and anyone travelling with equipment, samples or extra bags. They suit site visits and family occasions, and they make an entrance where that matters. The Mercedes Sprinter van keeps larger groups together in one vehicle with real luggage space. For a wedding party, a team on a conference day or a group tour, one Sprinter beats three cars: everyone arrives at the same moment, and the conversation carries on between stops instead of restarting. Every vehicle is a recent model and maintained to the same standard, whichever one your day calls for. The chauffeurs On an hourly booking the chauffeur matters more than on any other kind of trip, because you are with them all day. Ours are licensed, background checked and experienced, and they know the routes. That last part is worth more than it sounds. Knowing which approach to a downtown address works at four in the afternoon, or which route around a closure actually saves time, is the difference between arriving early and apologising on the way in. They are also discreet. On a business day the back of the car becomes an office, and a good chauffeur understands that the passenger is working and leaves them to it. On a wedding day the same person will be the one keeping the schedule on track while everyone else enjoys themselves. Booking hourly service Tell us the date, the start time, the pickup address, roughly how long you need the vehicle, the number of passengers and any stops you already know about. We will confirm the vehicle, the hours and the rate before anything is committed. The plan does not have to be final. That is rather the point of booking by the hour.
